PARP is a PTA program that asks a partner (like parents, grandparents, caretakers, siblings and friends) to read with or to a child for a minimum of 15 minutes a day. The goal is to link the bond between school, home and the community and encourage kids to discover the love of reading books that can be informative and fun; while helping to strengthen the bond between children and loved ones.
Students will be divided into teams and challenge themselves to read at least 15 minutes a day with a partner. We will offer a fun theme, opportunities to earn prizes and hope to inspire kids to read more.
Give your child an opportunity to shine! Send Lina Haimelin a photo of your child reading at firstname.lastname@example.org
and we will feature them on our school televisions. Send the photo along with your child's name, age and a blurb about why s/he likes reading by February 28th. Photos can be silly, staged or caught in the act. (Make sure to get it approved by your child before sending it since it will be featured at the school for a month).
THIS YEAR'S THEME IS...MPES NINJA WARRIOR READERS! READING IS EXERCISE FOR THE BRAIN! Let the theme inspire your kids when posing for the picture.
