Join us on June 2nd as we partner with Lewisboro Land Trust on a hike for National Trails Day. There are 2 hikes to choose from, both exploring Leon Levy Preserve on Route 123 in South Salem. Rated easy/moderate. Steady rain cancels. Refreshments served.
Short Hike:The Leon Levy Preserve offers an unusual variety of interesting terrain, including wetlands, a ravine with 25 foot cliffs, diverse hardwood forest, and several brooks. There are also ruins of a mansion! About 45 min - 1 hr; Led by Gigi Guthrie.
Longer Hike: Grand Opening and hike of "East Trails at Leon Levy Preserve", across Route 123 from the parking lot. Leisurely hike through newly created field, to Marsh Overlook, a small cascading stream, Cedar Knoll and Marsh Trail to view the Mill River. 1 to 1 ½ hours. Led by George Scott.
